The Cube Achievments

- OCTOBER 2014:
Creative Space Beirut X Qout Market: Charity event organized by Qout Market at almakan with Creative Space Beirut to raise money for a non profit organization that provides education in Fashion design for the less unfortunate.

- November 2014:
created an instillation that aimed in collecting a database for as much creative as possible in Kuwait in order to create a virtual platform for creative events.

- JANUARY 2015:
hosted the “Pop up” gallery by - Khaleejesque. An exhibition for the first pop up issue for the “ilbox” a bimonthly curated subcription box featuring local product from the middle east as well as an archival magazine that featured and commission artists from the region. We created a gallery of the work that was produced for this issue.

- FEBUARY 2015:
in collaboration with Nuqat, almakan has created a workshop with
a food photographer Kulusm kunwa and our Executive Chef, Faisal Alnashmi, to conduct a 2 day workshop named feeding the eyes. We used the whole space to conduct the workshop. In the gellery we
in collaboration with a flower shop as well as a bakery managed to create a setting with a backdrop to be utalised as a stage where the atendees can experiment taking photos with natural sunlight.

- MARCH 2015:
“Projections: Searching” by SKOUNT (Spain) X Visual Therapy.
Hosted and Supported a Spanish artist with a local curator to exhibit
work in Kuwait.

- MARCH/April 2015:
“Al-Khayal In Haka” (If Imagination Could Speak) - ALMAKAN X Arch. Jassim Al Nashmi. An instillation that invites you to take a glimpse at the 3 year journey of a dream transitioning into reality and allows you to embark on the experience of their thoughts on paper and making their way to existence.

-MAY/JUNE 2015:
“Geometry of color” - Ricardas Blazukas
Out of the database that we collected from the local creatives, we chose to promote Ricards Blazukas as part of the almakan initiative to be the first person to promote his work for a month.

-JULY/AUGUST 2015:
“Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures” - Takween.
A competition that was held in this region by a non profit organiza- tion, and that re-exhibited the works of art in the gallery from the selected winners.

-SEPTEMBER 2015:
Dana Jouder book launch - Evora
Promoted a Kuwaiti writer to launch her first book in almakan

-October/November 2015:
Residency Program - Mohanned Almohanna
Part of the almakan initiative to promote locally based creatives, almakan has chosen a talented Kuwaiti illustrator as a resident. He then had the freedom to convert the gallery into his own studio. The purpose of this program is to let the general public see what it takes for Almohanna to produce his work, and that becomes another form of marketing for him. The program ended up with a galley exhibition, the artist had the freedom to see the work produced during this time.

-DECEMBER 2015:
Bazza Al Zouman fashion designer, launched her Spring Summer Collection “ City days and Nights ”

-DECEMBER 2015:
Thuraya lynn and Dauchan exhibition “I saw the cat run away”. A 3 day exhibition between two Kuwaiti artists.
